Terms of service

Last updated October 16, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Michal Brutvan, a private person in Finland, who runs Kuvio ("we"). They apply to the website at kuvio.art and the Kuvio Android app. By creating an account or using Kuvio you accept them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

Kuvio

Kuvio is an editor for drawing patterns on square and brick grids, for beadwork, cross-stitch, knitting and pixel art. You can use the editor without an account. With an account you can save drawings and open them on other devices.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Give a real email address, and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • You can close your account at any time under Usage & billing. That deletes your saved drawings and ends any subscription (see Paid plan).

Plans

Free plan

The free plan lets you save a limited number of drawings, shown on the Usage & billing page. We may change that limit; drawings you've already saved stay saved.

Paid plan

  • The paid plan removes the limit on saved drawings. It's a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it.
  • You see the price before you buy: on the website on the Usage & billing page, in the Android app in Google Play. Prices include VAT where it applies.
  • On the website, Stripe takes the payment. You cancel with Downgrade to free on the Usage & billing page: the subscription ends right away and you aren't charged again. The current month isn't refunded, except under the right of withdrawal below.
  • In the Android app, Google Play takes the payment and its terms apply to the purchase. You cancel in Google Play, and keep the paid plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds of Google Play purchases go through Google Play.
  • If a payment fails and isn't settled, or the subscription ends, your account moves to the free plan. You keep all your drawings, but can't save new ones while you're over the free limit.
  • If we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

Right of withdrawal

If you're a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from a new paid subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, and get your payment back. Email support@kuvio.art within those 14 days. For a purchase made in Google Play, you can also ask Google Play for the refund.

Your drawings

  • Your drawings are yours. We store and show them only to provide Kuvio to you, and you give us the permission we need for that. We don't claim any other rights in them.
  • A share link contains the drawing itself. Anyone who has the link can open it, so share it only with people you want to see it.
  • Keep your own copies of drawings that matter to you (Download in the editor). We take care to keep your data safe, but can't promise it will never be lost.

Acceptable use

Don't use Kuvio to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights, such as copying someone else's pattern to sell it;
  • attack, overload or try to break into Kuvio, or get around the plans' limits;
  • use automated tools to create accounts or drawings in bulk.

If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Unless the situation requires acting at once, we tell you first and give you a chance to respond.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Kuvio running and your data safe, but Kuvio is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever shut Kuvio down, we tell you at least 60 days ahead so you can download your drawings, and refund any paid time left.

Liability

We're not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profits or lost work, or for damage beyond what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, such as for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and they don't take away any rights you have as a consumer under the law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that affect you, we tell you by email or in Kuvio at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can close your account before then; continuing to use Kuvio after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and can bring a dispute to the courts there. Please contact us first at support@kuvio.art; we'd like to sort things out. Consumers can also take a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting consumer advice.
